Victory Over Shame

6th September 2026

Ps. Andrew Fernandes shared the Word of God on “Victory Over Shame.” Shame can arise from failure, rejection, unemployment, or feeling unloved. Researcher Brené Brown explains how shame can make us feel unworthy and how the reactions of people around us can intensify it. Instead of saying “shame on you,” let us show empathy and kindness, never knowing what someone is going through.

In Genesis 3:8–10, Adam and Eve hid from God because of their sin and shame. But God invites us to come to Him, repent, and receive His forgiveness.

When shame makes you want to hide, run to God, not away from Him. Jesus took our shame on the cross, reminding us that through Him, we are loved, forgiven, and set free.

Victory Over Anger

13th September 2026

Ps. Andrew Fernandes shared the Word of God on “Victory Over Anger.” Anger is a natural human emotion, but acting wrongly out of anger is a sin. Just like fire, anger can be useful or destructive depending on how we control it. Jesus’ example teaches us to handle anger wisely.

The Holy Spirit teaches us three lessons:

1. Put water on the fire – Proverbs 14:29: Be patient and slow to anger.
2. Put a bedsheet on the fire – Galatians 6:1: Help others gently when they fall into sin.
3. Stop the fire immediately – Ephesians 4:26–27: Do not let anger lead you into sin.

With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we can control our anger and honour God through our actions.

Victory Over Poverty

20th September 2026

Ps. Andrew preached on “Victory Over Poverty.”Poverty can result from a lack of education, unemployment, natural disasters, or greed. It is not only about what we have, but how wisely we manage what God has given us.

Proverbs 21:20 teaches us to spend wisely and be good stewards of our resources. We must also learn to give generously. Zacchaeus showed this when he encountered Jesus and decided to give to the poor and repay those he had cheated.

Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

Poverty says, “I have nothing,” but Christ reminds us that our true riches and hope are found in Him. Let us trust in Yahweh Jireh, our Provider, whose grace is sufficient for us.

Victory Over Gossip

27th September 2026

Ps. Andrew preached on “Victory Over Gossip,” reminding us that gossip may feel tempting, but it harms our spiritual lives. Our intentions matter, and we must learn to control our words instead of spreading information from one person to another.

In Genesis 3, Eve added to God’s command by saying they should not even touch the fruit. This reminds us not to add anything to what God has said or spread information carelessly.

Proverbs 18:8 warns us about the tempting nature of gossip, while Proverbs 12:22 reminds us that lying lips are an abomination to God.

The lesson is simple: exercise self-control through the Holy Spirit, refuse to entertain gossip, and choose words that honour God.
